Task Management Dashboard

VisionAI Observ provides a clear interface, featuring video snapshots, lists, maps, and various detailed information, ensuring you have a comprehensive view of the tasks, anytime and anywhere.

Task Overview

The Task dashboard allows the user to get a birds eye view of the running tasks. Key information displayed include:

  • Task name

  • Timestamp and description of the latest event that occurred

  • Total number of detected events

  • Filter and sorting

  • View mode toggling

  • And more

This document can help walk you through each of these management tools.

1. Toggling Between Views

The Task dashboard offers a tile view, list view, and map view of all your tasks. Simply select the icon corresponding to your desired view. By default, the dashboard opens on the tile view.

2. Viewing Different Types of Tasks

The various types of tasks include the camera task, video task, multi-camera group, among others. Tasks of different types cannot be opened in a single view, but the user is able to toggle between viewing the various types by clicking on the desired option above.

Specific types of tasks only appear clickable once the user creates a task of that type (e.g., if the user only every created camera tasks, then video, multi-camera group, and smart traffic camera will not be visible as options to click on.)

3. Batch Editing Tasks

To reduce instances of clicking into and out of multiple tasks when making multiple edits, the batch task function is made available to have everything done in one UI. In this window, you'll be able to configure the AI Confidence Threshold, Object Size Filter, Image Quality Filter, Event Type, Event Threshold, Task Status, and Decoder of multiple tasks at once.

4. Sorting Tasks

The order of tasks on the dashboard can also be toggled. By default, the order is newest to oldest (in terms of date of creation). This can be changed to oldest to newest, alphanumeric (ascending or descending), and in the order of last event recorded.

5. Viewing Tasks with Different Statuses

By default, loading into your Task page opens all the running tasks. The user can also select to view Paused, Disconnected, Others, and Total tasks on the dashboard by toggling the dropdown. The different statuses are:

  • Total: All the tasks that have not been deleted.

  • Running: Tasks that are actively running and detecting events.

  • Paused: Tasks that have been paused by the user voluntarily.

  • Disconnected: Tasks where there is an error in the connection, possibly in the RTSP.

  • Others: Includes terminated tasks and tasks that are scheduled to run at a later time.

6. Searching for Tasks

The search function allows you to look up tasks, so long as they exist in the status selected. For example, the above image shows the running tasks. When searching for a task, only 3 choices are available.

Below, I've selected Total Task instead. Here, you'll be able to search for tasks that are paused since they are now visible in the dashboard.

7. Filtering Tasks by Specific Criteria

The task filter is available for more specific filtering, such as by organization, location, detection type, scenario included, decoder used, compute target, compute node, specific gpu utilized, and the time of the last event triggered.

It's important to note that this filter utilizes an intersection logic (i.e., the filtered tasks must fulfill all criteria in order to appear). Hence, by default, all fields are set to "All" or the alternative, most exhaustive option.

8. Selecting from the Location Tab

Another way to filter tasks in the UI is by simply selecting your location of choice from the above selections. By default, opening the Task dashboard shows "All."

9. Selecting Individual Task Cards

Each card contains the following information, from top to bottom:

  • A screen grab of the stream taken in the last hour

  • Scenarios included in that task

  • Task name

    • A colored dot is visible to the right of the task name. This represents the connection speed of the stream, with green being the fastest.

  • Timestamp of the last event that occurred

  • Description of the last event that occurred

  • Number of event records that triggered in the last 24 hours

  • The GPU it's running on, if the task is utilizing GPU

These cards can be clicked into to manage the individual task. This allows you to review historical and real-time event logs, adjust individual settings, and manage notifications and schedules.

10. Pagination

When multiple cameras are shown on the dashboard, the user can utilize the pagination functions on the bottom right for navigation.

11. Toggling Between Light and Dark Mode

Selecting the icon above toggles between light and dark mode, with dark mode appearing as such below:

12. Managing Notifications

The small bell icon at the top of the interface shows the latest notifications received. Click on it to display a list of all notifications, including event names, descriptions, and occurrence times. You can also click into each notification for more details such as the event name, description, camera, location, and time of occurrence.

For more details, you can read more about notification management on this page.
